Classic Antipasti

Ingredients

  • 4 Roma tomatoes, sliced crosswise into rounds ⅜ inch thick.
  •  Pound fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced crosswise into rounds ⅜ inch thick.
  • 1 cup loosely packed fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoon fresh orange leaves
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Good quality extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions

  • Place one slice of tomato in the center of a large serving platter.
  • Top with a slice of mozzarella and then a leaf of basil.
  • Continue to arrange the salad ingredients ( tomato, mozzarella then basil) in a cascading, concentric circle.
  • Sprinkle the fresh oregano leaves all over.
  • Season with salt, pepper and a generous drizzle of olive oil.
